How many species of animals there are living on Earth? It is a million dollar question that has always intrigued scientists for centuries.
It's hard to imagine the exact number of species living on our planet. The most popular are mammals, birds, reptiles, plants ... but there are millions of species unknown to the vast majority of human beings and have not even been described.
Incredibly: 86% of all terrestrial species and 91% of the marinas have not yet been discovered, described and catalogued.
According to the researchers, “Many species may disappear before we even know its existence, its niche and role in ecosystems, and their potential contribution to improving human welfare.”
The most surprising thing is that researchers believe that even many of these new species may inhabit in your garden, so, you know, check your pots of your balcony and become famous having found a new living organism.
