The Statue of Liberty will close for the period of a year because of cosmetic surgery, according to Ken Salazar, Secretary of the Interior U.S. The closure will take place on October 29th, a day after the statue celebrates its 125th anniversary.
“You know, every day thousands of people go to its confident surgeon for becoming more beautiful. It is a normal thing nowadays, what happens is that as the statue is bigger than a normal person it takes more than a week, even months of recovering.” told me Dr. Malcolm Mad, specialist on cosmetic surgery for buildings.
The Statue of Liberty stands in Liberty Island, which will remain open to tourists. The authorities have made clear that the only thing close is the interior of the statue, while the island will continue to operate normally and tourists can access it without problems.
So, if you had decided go to New York for visiting the Statue of Liberty, might be that you save your money until it will recover of its cosmetic surgery.
